Street VS Race Series
Choosing between FP Performance Street and Race Series mufflers comes down to purely the sound that you desire for your build. This guide explains what the two series share, how they differ, and what to consider when selecting a muffler.
Both series are built from 304 stainless steel inside and out, TIG welded, and designed with integrated Helmholtz chambers to reduce unwanted drone. Each is available in multiple diameters and inlet/outlet configurations.
Review the comparison below, listen to the sound examples, and determine what sound is best for your build. For a direct-fit option, see the Mustang applications currently offered by FP Performance Exhaust Systems. For other vehicles and custom exhaust systems, explore our universal mufflers.
Street Series
FP Performance Street Series mufflers feature a bold oval body and a high-flow chamber with multiple exhaust flow paths. The result is a chambered muffler designed to deliver the utmost performance and a deep, clean, crisp tone while helping reduce unwanted drone.
Race Series
FP Performance Race Series mufflers feature a compact rectangular body and the same high-flow chamber design as the Street Series. The body shape gives the Race Series a distinct, more aggressive exhaust note. Its multi-path chamber supports exhaust flow, while integrated Helmholtz chambers are designed to help reduce unwanted drone.
What Makes Our Chambered Mufflers Different
Unlike a traditional chambered muffler, FP Performance Street and Race Series mufflers feature a distinctive internal design: a center hexagonal chamber surrounded by baffles and Helmholtz chambers in opposing corners. This layout creates multiple paths for exhaust flow, while the Helmholtz chambers help reduce unwanted drone.
The result combines premium materials, performance-focused flow, a nostalgic chambered tone unlike any chambered muffler on the market.
